Garden River Resource Centre

The Garden River Resource Centre was established on March 12, 1976 in the old SHKE – SAHKEHJEWAOSA community centre.  The Resource Centre was located in the basement of the Band Office for several years and then moved to the Education/Recreation Centre in 2006.

The Resource Centre is a registered Public Library that receives assistance from the Ontario Library Services.   “The Ontario Library Service was established through an amalgamation of Ontario Library Service-North (OLS-North) and Southern Ontario Library Service (SOLS). OLS-North & SOLS, in turn, grew out of an amalgamation of regional library systems that themselves had provided support and development services to the libraries in their regions for decades.
